All alone

Matt left today, after sacrament meeting at church. He sang in church today with some other guys. It was kind of funny because he sang the wrong verse on his solo. No one noticed except for me and I think the missionaries.

So, we are without our dad for a month. Andrew had a hard time of it when he first left, but Lucy was more concerned with going to class. And now I'm watching the new Pride and Prejudice. Andrew is having a popsicle. Lucy is sleeping. And there is a HUGE storm brewing outside. I'm always nervous when we have a lot of lightning and wind. There is a huge tree about ten feet from our house, and if the wind ever got strong enough, or if it got hit......the kids room is the closest. It just makes me nervous. And I'm also worried about Matt driving all alone. Logically, I know he's a good driver, and that he'll be fine. But I'm still anxious about it. We've been invited to a friends house for dinner, so that is something to look forward to. Sometimes rainy Sundays can be really long.....maybe I'll make cookies........

Actually, he didn't sing the wrong verse. He just sang the wrong last line. He sang verse 3 but the last line of verse 2. He covered TOTALLY well though and if that wasn't one of my very favorite songs I would not have noticed. How many people actually know the words to all the verses of "Each Life That Touches Ours For Good" anyway? I was glad he sang a solo, I haven't really gotten to hear his voice alone before and so that was nice to listen to. I can see why he's been so involved in music. And to have a wife that plays the piano must be a bonus!

And just for the sake of coincidence, I watched Pride & Prejudice on Friday night when MY husband was gone. The "real" one, with Colin Firth that lasts about 5 1/2 hours. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any of the shorter ones, because I've heard they are all missing essential parts!

I didn't notice your husband sang the wrong verse but he sounded great!! Does he ever sing to you? That would melt my heart! :)

What a wonderful idea of a Sunday or any day alone. I love those days: stormy, excellent movie playing, kids being at peace, and not having to make dinner :-))
Sounds like a vacation!!
On the side I'd love to have my hubby serenade me. Yum.
